WACC is running an all-comers, one day bike repair workshop in Tangi-te-keo/Mount Victoria on July 21st. You can sign up for either session or both.
Session One (beginners) 10:00 am - 12:30 pm
- Bike anatomy (naming parts, knowing their function)
- Tyres, pressure, and puncture repair
- Chain maintenance
- Adjusting your bike to fit your body
- Taking a bike apart for transport
Session Two (intermediate) 1:30 pm - 4:00 pm
- Brakes: replacing cables/pads and simple adjustments
- Gears: replacing cables and tuning gears
*Will be adapted to skill level and interests of the group.

WACC is running a comprehensive 5-week bike repair beginners course in central Te Whanganui-a-tara/Wellington this August.
We'll take you through learning bike lingo and anatomy, what you need to do to maintain your bike in tip-top condition, and how to fix things when they do go wrong. We'll also find some time to talk about feeling confident and safe cycling through the city, setting up your bike to meet your needs, and building a cycling community.
Each 2 hour class will include a hands-on lesson and workshop time to practice skills and do repairs. Bike stands, tools and some parts will be provided. This course is suitable for complete beginners as well as people with a little prior experience.
DATE/TIME 7-9pm Thursdays in August starting Aug 2nd 10am-12pm Saturday September 1st
